Referent - referent.law
Last updated: July 10, 2026
This Cookie Policy explains how AI Lawtech Sp. z O.O. (“Referent”, “we”, “us”) uses cookies and similar technologies (such as browser local storage and tracking pixels) on our website at referent.law. It supplements our Privacy Policy, which describes how we handle personal data more broadly.
One thing up front: these cookies relate only to your visit to this website. Client work inside the Referent product - your clients, matters, documents, and correspondence - is never tracked by these cookies.
- The three categories we use
Necessary. Required for the website to work and to respect your decisions. This includes the record of your cookie choice itself, stored in your browser’s local storage under the key “referent-consent”, and basic security protections provided by our hosting infrastructure. Necessary items are always active, because the site cannot function correctly, or remember that you said no, without them.
Statistics. Help us understand how the website is used: which pages are viewed, where visitors come from, and how people move through our beta application form. We use PostHog product analytics and Google Analytics 4 (loaded through Google Tag Manager) for this. Statistics cookies are used for measurement, not advertising.
Marketing. Set by advertising platform tags loaded through Google Tag Manager. We currently use them only to measure the performance of our own campaigns - for example, whether an ad brought you to this site and whether you started or completed our beta application. Section 7 of our Privacy Policy lists the advertising providers we work with. These tags never receive the content of your workspace or your clients’ data.
- Defaults and the consent banner
If you visit from the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom, or Switzerland, Statistics and Marketing cookies are off by default. They are activated only if you allow them in our cookie banner, where you can accept all, deny all, or allow only the categories you select. In other regions, Statistics and Marketing cookies are active by default, and you can still limit them with the controls described in Section 4.
- How long they last
Your consent choice stays in your browser until you clear this site’s data or make a new choice; we do not expire it on our side. The Statistics and Marketing cookies themselves have lifetimes set by the providers that issue them, and you can delete them at any time through your browser settings.
- Changing your choice
To change your choice, clear this site’s data (cookies and site data for referent.law) in your browser settings. If you are in the EEA, the UK, or Switzerland, the banner will be shown again on your next visit, and Statistics and Marketing stay off until you decide.
All visitors, in any region, can also opt out of Google Analytics with the browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout, manage Google ad settings at myadcenter.google.com, and use their browser’s built-in tracking protection.
- Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our website or providers change. We will post the updated version on this page; the “Last updated” date reflects the latest revision.
